Rassan Follis, LCSW, Veteran

Thank you for stopping by. My name is Rassan Follis, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. My focus is to create a safe space free of judgment for self-discovery, personal growth and empowerment. I hold a masters degrees in applied anthropology and social work from the University of Texas at Arlington, and a bachelor’s degree in cultural anthropology from William Paterson University of New Jersey. I am a U.S. Army Veteran with over fifteen years experience working with older and/or disabled adults and their caregivers in the areas of case management, advocacy, elder care, Medicare/Medicaid/managed care, conflict resolution, counseling and community resource navigation. I also help address issues related to caregiver burnout for those caring for elderly and/or disabled loved ones. I have several years experience working with LGBTQIA+ youth, individuals and families to meet challenges related to sexuality, sexual orientation, identity, HIV/AIDS, anxiety, depression, self-esteem and self-acceptance. The goal is not to tell you how to live your life, but to help you identify areas for growth and partner with you to develop a plan to make lasting, positive change.

My approaches to Therapy are rooted in Structural Family Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-focused Therapy and Mindfulness. My aim is to provide support to communities that are too often marginalized and invisible. Step into the light and partner with me to create a solid foundation for positive change and improved quality of life.
