Kimberly Staten, LPC-Associate
"Success is to be measured not so much by the position one has reached in life as by the obstacles he has overcome" Booker T. Washington"
It's Kimberly's personal view that human beings, ALL human beings, encounter "mountain top" experiences and "valley experiences" in their lifetime. Her goal is to assist in the valley of your life. Valleys may entail dealing with loss of a loved one, divorce, or some level of mental discomfort. Her approach to helping is solutions focused and client centered. That essentially means that you are in charge of the direction of your journey. She will be empathetic and challenge you along the way to ensure you meet your goals. She believes in creating a safe space for clients where the atmosphere is warm and inviting.
As someone who has various life experiences at each stage of life, childhood, early adult, and adult life, she can relate to life's journey related to child development/rearing, marriage and family, and end-of-life challenges through the lens of a parent, caregiver, and professional. Her perspective is coming alongside someone to cheer, to support, to lend a listening empathetic ear to whatever someone may be facing. Kimberly was educated at Central Michigan University and Lamar University, in the Detroit, MI area, and in the Houston, TX area.
